Candle Safety Instructions
1. Always Burn Candles Within Sight
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish candles when leaving the room or going to sleep.
2. Keep Away from Flammable Materials
Ensure candles are kept at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from flammable items such as curtains, bedding, books, paper, etc.
3. Place Candles on a Stable, Heat-Resistant Surface
To avoid tipping, always place candles on a stable surface. Use a heat-resistant holder to protect surfaces from hot wax.
4. Trim the Wick Before Each Use
Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch (6 mm) to prevent high flames and excessive smoking.
5. Burn Candles in Well-Ventilated Areas
Ensure adequate airflow to reduce the risk of flare-ups and to prevent buildup of candle smoke.
6. Do Not Burn for More Than 4 Hours at a Time
Allow candles to cool for at least two hours before relighting. This helps extend the life of your candle and prevent excessive heat.
7. Keep Candles Out of Reach of Children and Pets
Always place candles out of reach of small children and pets to prevent accidents.
8. Never Use Candles as Night Lights
Avoid burning candles when you are likely to fall asleep, as this poses a serious fire hazard.
9. Extinguish the Flame Safely
Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame to avoid splashing hot wax. Ensure the wick is completely extinguished and no glowing embers remain.
10. Do Not Burn the Candle All the Way Down
Stop use when 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains at the bottom to prevent overheating the container.
By following these guidelines, you can safely enjoy your candles while reducing the risk of fire and injury.
